When David Booth was at his low point a couple of weeks ago, he found comfort in a Gary Allan country song titled “Every storm runs out of rain.”
The message is rather simple, and captured in its classic country chorus which reads: “Every heartache will fade away.”
In other words, if the Canucks can turn their power play around, and they have man-advantage goals in seven straight games, the sun is going to shine on everyone’s backside eventually.
And wouldn’t you know it, Booth is now on the top line with the Sedins.
He seems to be staying there too, despite generating zero shots on net in Friday’s 3-2 overtime win over Phoenix.
Booth has managed to win over John Tortorella — for the time being — and if he’s done that, just about anything is possible, including the Canucks figuring out how to close a home game.
