Vancouver defenceman Andrew Alberts may have played forward six years ago, but that was no help to him Thursday.
He looked lost playing wing on the fourth line, and felt that way too.
The memories did not come rushing back. Not like he had many. He played only a few shifts at forward for the Bruins in a few games. Just enough for Zdeno Chara, then with the Senators, to give him a beat down.
So, it shouldn't have surprised anyone when he was caught out of position during Montreal's two first period goals Thursday.
"I just got caught switching in our zone," he said. "The coaches can tell you ideas of what to do in certain situations. But when it comes down to it, you have a million things going on in your head. What do you do with the puck? Where do you go?
"It's a lot different when you've been playing D for 25 years and switch over....
