Dale Weise has seen the light after his fright - and it might involve wearing a visor for the remainder of his career.
The Vancouver Canuck fourth-liner suffered a nasty nine-stitch gash between the eyes at practice Tuesday - but not a broken nose, he emphasized - and admitted to being a little shaken by the episode. He was struck by the puck while defending a rush against Alex Burrows. The disc rode up his own stick and nailed him.
"You know what? I've always kind of been on the fence about wearing a visor," Weise said Wednesday. "But your eyes are so important and it was definitely a wake-up call for me. After I got hit with the puck there, I didn't want to open my eyes because I knew it was somewhere around there. When I did open them, I was leaking [blood] but I could see and I was happy about that."
